Mauricio Fernandez has long been finding great information on Japanese Ruby blogs. Recently he unearthed another gem: Non-synthetic Benchmarks for YARV. It looks like YARV will run Rails and ActiveRecord a little bit faster than Ruby 1.8.6, but that there are some significant startup costs as well. I’m looking forward to seeing some JRuby numbers on this as well.
